The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to join a thriving small firm with an established client base, immediate substantive responsibility, and genuine mentorship from a senior attorney with 29+ years of experience. Responsibilities

  • Handle real estate transactions from contract to closing
  • Draft and review estate planning documents including wills, revocable living trusts, and presentations at estate planning seminars
  • Manage probate and trust administration matters from opening through final distribution
  • Support personal injury files during an initial onboarding period, with increasing PI file responsibility as competence and judgment are demonstrated over time
  • Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, title companies, lenders, and courts
  • Maintain accurate and timely case notes, billing records, and file documentation
  • Work collaboratively with paralegal staff and delegate appropriate tasks
  • Attend closings, court hearings, depositions, and client meetings as required

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in Illinois (Wisconsin license preferred or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience preferred; new admittees with strong academic background and clerkship/internship experience will be considered
  • Experience in real estate, estate planning, or litigation preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously with attention to deadlines
  • High degree of professionalism, client empathy, and ethical judgment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, experience with Smokeball and AI systems is a plus
