Purchasing Coordinator

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Vendor Management: Negotiating, sourcing, and maintaining relationships with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
  • Order Processing: Creating, confirming, and managing purchase orders for raw materials (fabrics, trims) or finished garments.
  • Logistics Coordination: Scheduling, tracking, and ensuring on-time delivery of materials to the office.
  • Inventory Control: Monitoring stock levels, conducting inventory checks, and reconciling data in the system.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with production managers and designers to align purchasing with production schedules.

Required Skills

  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data, and predict trends.
  • Technical Proficiency: Competency with browsers, logins, and shipping software.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills for vendor negotiations.
  • Organizational Skills: High attention to detail for managing internal orders for goods that need purchased.

Common Requirements

  • 1--3 years of experience in purchasing, inventory, or administrative roles.
  • Knowledge of apparel production and materials.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines.
