SolarKal is seeking a driven, detail-oriented ProjectDelivery Senior Manager or Director to join our growing project team as we ensure success for our 200 MW pipeline of commercial solar projects. This is a high-visibility role: you'll work directly with our SVP and Project Leads to manage solar and battery storage development and advise clients through solar deployment. If you're energized by technical problem-solving, project development, and the fast pace of a company building something meaningful, this role is for you.
Founded in 2016, SolarKal is the leading marketplace for commercial solar in the US, connecting organizations to solar energy providers who compete for their business. Over the past 10 years, SolarKal has advised on over $350M of solar projects across 25 states, serving as the procurement advisors of businesses and commercial real estate owners in their switch to solar. SolarKal’s proprietary, tech-driven solar procurement platform has over 200 solarproviders that bid on projects from $1M-$50M, and compares dozens of variables in a simple apples-to-apples format for the client. By working with SolarKal, our clients get access to a vast network of vetted solar companies that have completed thousands of projects.
This is a full-time position. This position will have a variety of responsibilities including:
- Own project delivery from early-stage development through execution, keeping developer-partners on schedule and clients informed at every milestone
- Identify and drive solutions for interconnection, policy, and permitting issues, working closely with Project Leads to ensure project success
- Oversee and execute turnaround strategies for projects at risk of being cancelled, working with Project Leads to address financing, contractual, and development issues
- Build out our project management capabilities, working with the broader team to implement and improve internal project management processes and standards
- Maintain clear, well-documented project records and communicate progress to internal teams and clients throughout the project lifecycle
Candidates who qualify for this position will be ambitious, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a small, partially remote company environment. We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Five to eight years of experience in solar project development or project management
- Strong understanding of the technical solar development lifecycle for BTM and FTM commercial solar projects; experience filing utility interconnections preferred
- Analytical, research, and data analysis skills, including proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Expertise in managing multiple projects independently while balancing competing deadlines
- BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) experience is a plus
- Ability to travel regionally as needed for project site visits

This is a full-time position. The selected candidate will have a variety of responsibilities, including:
- Overseeing the development of comprehensive solar strategies for corporate and real estate clients, advising executives on integrating solar into their national property portfolios.
- Guiding clients through the project development cycle, managing project qualification, and analyzing customer energy data, property details, and policy factors.
- Managing solar RFPs using SolarKal’s procurement platform. This involves analyzing solar proposals from our solar partners, building comparison tools, and advising clients on selecting solar developers.
- Building and enhancing internal processes and strategies, working cross-functionally to improve and expand SolarKal’s service offerings.
- Helping lead the roll out of our energy storage offerings to existing and new commercial real estate owners
Candidates must be ambitious, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a small, partially remote, company environment. We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in C&I solar project development, solar project finance, or relevant roles in real estate, management consulting, or sustainability consulting.
- A graduate degree (MBA, public policy, engineering, or comparable) preferred but not required.
- A self-motivated, go-getter mentality and the ability to operate independently with the highest level of integrity in client decision-making.
- Proven experience in successfully guiding corporate and real estate clients through solar projects. Candidates should be comfortable navigating the corporate decision-making process, solar strategy, financing options, solar incentives, tax issues, and the opportunities and hurdles of commercial solar.
- Strong communication and client management skills, with the ability to handle follow-ups, objections, and strategic pivots independently.
