Flex Manufacturing Associate - Material Handler / Machine Operator (1st Shift)

Pay Rate: $18.00/hour
Shift:

• Monday-Thursday: 6:30am-3:30pm
• Friday: 6:30am-12:30pm
• Overtime: May begin as early as 5:30am or extend Friday/Saturday hours when required

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly flexible Manufacturing Associate who is ready to perform at a high level as a Material Handler and Machine Operator.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, can adapt to frequent schedule changes, and is comfortable performing multiple functions depending on daily production needs.

The position offers cross-training and exposure to both material handling and machine operation, with opportunities to move between roles based on operational needs. Candidates must be confident and competent in 100% of each role and will need to be willing to move into whichever is needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Pull, pack, stage, and ship materials according to work orders and Bills of Materials
• Receive and verify incoming materials, ensuring proper placement in storage areas
• Operate a sit-down propane forklift safely and efficiently
• Build, stage, and organize parts for production as needed
• Remove excess materials, empty skids, packaging, and prepare items for recycling
• Ensure all documentation accompanies material movement and production tasks
• Set up, operate, and monitor machines such as presses, saws,, spot welders, and robotic welders
• Load and position materials correctly for each job
• Monitor machine output and production quality, identifying and discarding defective materials
• Adapt to frequent changes in daily schedule, tasks, and department assignment based on production priorities
• Assist in multiple departments as needed, covering call-ins, machine downtime, or production bottlenecks

Qualifications & Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience
• Forklift experience or valid forklift certification required
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and written instructions
• Basic math and computer navigation skills
• Reliable, self-motivated, and adaptable to changing schedules

Physical Demands

• Stand, walk, bend, twist, squat, kneel, and reach throughout the shift
• Frequently lift and move items up to 65 lbs
• Use hand trucks to move loads up to 200 lbs (occasionally more with assistance)
• Safely operate machinery, tools, and industrial equipment
• Visual and hearing ability sufficient for production and safety tasks

Work Environment

• Indoor manufacturing and metal fabrication facility
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts, heat, noise, and industrial materials
• Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Occasional overtime based on production needs
