Project Manager III

Job Description

The Project Manager (PM) works collaboratively on projects of varying sizes and complexity. Most projects will require working closely with technical resources and business partners. This role will be engaged during the project process from conception to closure and hand-off to operations. The PM will create and foster lasting positive vendor and customer relationships and expected to work with a cross-functional team consisting of team members from multiple organizations. In this role, the PM must keep the team engaged and focused, remove blockers, and maintain the project schedule, scope and budget.

A person who will be successful in this role will need to be organized, adaptable, and self-motivated. They must be perceptive and able to discern project and task priority with little direction. This person must be able to lead and keep the team on task. Lastly, the ability to quickly understand our business and apply critical thinking skills to the job responsibilities will be very important to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and drive projects with top-down oversight throughout entire execution to ensure success as defined by adherence to standards of scope, budget, and timeline
  • Manage projects in multiple methodologies, standards and tools utilizing Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and adaptive methodologies according to individual project guidelines
  • Define the scope of the project in collaboration with senior management, business groups, internal and external business partners, vendors and customers
  • Create effective Project Documents including, but not limited to, Project Charter, Business Case, Risk Assessments, Status Report, Schedule, Risk & Issues, resource demand, and costing information if applicable
  • Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion, including deliverable tracking and benefit realization
  • Execute the project according to the project plan, milestones, sprints and/or schedule.
  • Organize and facilitate project planning, detailed project task assignments, daily stand-up meetings if required, reviews, project team meetings, lessons learned, and deployment planning
  • Monitor the progress of the project and adjust as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project
  • Identify and remove impediments, prevent distractions that interfere with the ability of the team to deliver their assigned tasks
  • Resolve project conflict by facilitated discussion to determine mitigation strategies
  • Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders, product owners including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers/stakeholders/product owners/sponsors
  • Participate proactively in developing and maintaining team standards, tools, and best practices
  • Manage project team to the established policies and practices of the organization
  • Additional duties as assigned by PMO Manager


Required Qualifications:

Must have at least 4 years of experience working as a Project Manager in an IT organization, managing projects with technical and business teams

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong support and knowledge of PMO standards and best practices
  • Experience working across the SDLC
  • Demonstrated ability to complete work to deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience


Preferred Requirements:

  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Agile Scrum certification a plus

Minimum Experience: 4+
