Job Summary Kutztown
University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 7,500 students across its graduate and undergraduate programs. Located in a
charming rural setting in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, the University is just a 20-minute drive from the metropolitan areas of
Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and about an hour from the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The University seeks to hire employees with
experience working with diverse populations.
The Department of Art and Design at Kutztown University invites
applications for multiple part-time temporary faculty positions within our Communication Design program (BFA) for Fall 2026 and /or Spring
2027. We welcome candidates with expertise in Communication Design and seek creative, technically skilled practitioners who can bring
professional-level experience in their area(s) of specialization. Applicants should demonstrate mastery in their chosen design discipline
and be prepared to integrate industry-standard workflows into their teaching.
Applicants must be proficient with the
industry-standard software Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects and able to produce high-quality typography and design,
plus have an exceptional understanding of design principles. Courses may include Digital Foundations, Typography, and Print Media
Production. Courses are scheduled in-person. In the event a course is changed to hybrid or online, the applicant will be required to
successfully complete the Teaching Online Certification Course offered through Kutztown University.
In accordance with the
Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional
responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth; and service.
Minimum Qualifications
MA or MFA in Design, or a related design field required, earned by the beginning of the semester. One year of college-level teaching
experience or equivalent professional experience in the design field is required. Successful interview and demonstration of relevant
abilities required.
Preferred Qualifications Extensive professional industry
and client-interaction knowledge is preferred.
