Children and Youth Ministries Director

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Director will envision, plan, and lead ministries for children and youth in our church and community, with a focus on discipleship. They will oversee a program that nurtures and fosters the faith of children and youth, guiding them on a lifelong journey of following and serving God.

● Lead all aspects of children and youth discipleship from kindergarten through 12th grade.

● Prepare, teach, and lead Sunday morning children's ministry and weekly youth ministries.

● Recruit, equip, deploy, and lead members to produce meaningful children and youth programming throughout the year, including, but not limited to, VBS, youth fellowship, and Sunday School that fosters children's growth in their faith, biblical knowledge, and overall discipleship.

● Show financial responsibility in operating the Children's Ministry budget by recommending to the Administrative Board a detailed annual budget for children’s and student ministries and demonstrating fiscal accountability regarding all transactions.

● Establish regular communication with parents and the broader church community regarding Children and Youth Ministry activities through email, Facebook, and other channels.

● In partnership with the pastor, develop a Children's Ministry Team that provides resources and program ideas to support the missional objectives of BHUMC.

● Attend meetings (E.g., Church Council) for special reports or program coordination as requested by the Senior Pastor.

● Other tasks as assigned

Organizational Relationship and Supervision:

This hybrid position averages 8 hours a week, including on-site Sundays (and possibly Wednesdays) and other meetings, while planning can be done remotely.

The Director of Children and Youth Ministry reports directly to the Senior Pastor for ongoing encouragement, mentoring, and supervision to strategically fulfill the mission and vision of BHUMC. The Senior Pastor, in collaboration with the Administrative Board, will provide an annual evaluation of the Children and Youth Ministry Director's performance.

Terms:

● This hybrid position averages 8 hours a week, including Sunday’s, youth programming days, and other meetings. Planning can be done remotely.

● Hourly, $20.00/hour.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
