The North Country Supervisory Union is seeking a dynamic and passionate individual committed to the development of character, competence, creativity and community to serve as the Assistant Special Services Director assigned to NCUHS. The preferred candidate must demonstrate an in-depth understanding of current best practices related to special education and student services to meet a wide range of student needs. This individual serves as part of the NCSU Leadership Team in carrying out the mission of the supervisory union and is a key advisor to the superintendent and principals. This position is based out of the NCUHS building.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1.Masters degree in educational administration, special education, or equivalent.2.Must have, or be eligible for, appropriate Vermont licensure (Director of Special Education endorsement).3.Minimum of three years experience in public education, two years of which must have been spent in successful classroom teaching at the secondary level.4.Demonstrated understanding of special education laws and regulations.5.Excellent abilities with collaboration, communication and conflict resolution.6.Such alternatives to the above qualifications as deemed acceptable by the North Country Supervisory Union.POSITION GOAL: Provide quality educational programs and transitioning for all secondary students who meet requirements for special education services.Salary and benefits are regionally competitive.
This position is a full-year year 260-day contract.
