Compensation: $31,262.40 annually; Pay typically starts at $15.03 hour.

Position Summary & Responsibilities:
Position Summary: This position is located at the Larned State Correctional Facility and provides administrative support to Policy and Information Department, and Disciplinary Administrator.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
  • Provides varied secretarial support to Policy and Information Coordinator and facility Disciplinary Administrator. Work includes data entry and word processing of all directives, memoranda, reports, or evaluations, as well as taking minutes and transcribing verbal notes. Copies, distributes, and forwards information appropriately.
  • Coordinates, disseminates, and tracks the receipt of all IMPP and General Order updates as directed by Policy and Information Coordinator. Maintains policy manual updates. Copies and distributes material appropriately. Ensures that an adequate inventory of office supplies is available, requisitioning needed items as necessary.
  • Assists supervisor with data collection for statewide PREA initiatives as appropriate. Assists with picture taking for facility events and assists supervisor with other public relations endeavors. Assists with facility tours.
  • Maintains files pertinent to office operations, to include correspondence, disciplinary documentation, and related materials. Answers facility telephone console, screens incoming calls, and directs callers to the appropriate party. Provides clerical support to the Mail Room every Monday afternoon. Schedules and maintains appointment calendars.
  • Assumes other duties as assigned to fulfill the missions of the department and the agency.

Qualifications:

Licensing & Certification : Must have a valid driver's license and provide a copy.

Minimum Qualifications : Must have six months of experience in general office, clerical, or administrative support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Transcripts are required for education to be considered.

Preferred Qualifications : Extensive computer experience with spreadsheets, databases, and word processing applications
