Job Description

Job Title: Graduation Support Team Lead

Department: Student Services

Reports To: Director of Graduation Support Services

Compensation Range: $70,000 - $75,000

TRS Classification: Classified


Summary:


The Graduation Support Department partners with teachers and families to help students in grades 9-12 obtain the competencies needed to meet state graduation requirements and encourage students to explore academic and career goals in compliance with local, state, and federal policy.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Supervise the operation and the personnel of the graduation support department.
  • Reports to the Director of Graduation Support Services.
  • Stay up to date with Oklahoma statutes regarding graduation requirements.
  • Manages a team that facilitates the following functions.
  • Manage the scheduling process and ensure that the Graduation Support Specialists create schedules in a timely manner
  • Coordinate the evaluation of transcripts.
  • Ensure that the Graduation Support Specialists adhere to laws, policies, procedures and ethical standards of Epic Charter School.
  • Ensure that all Epic high school students are monitored and check graduation requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate student records.
  • Assist in coordinating concurrent enrollment.
  • Develop a graduation plan that aligns with post high school goals.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge about colleges and their admission requirements and educational opportunities.
  • Assist teachers with course planning and state testing requirements.
  • Provide solutions for credit recovery and advancement to graduation.
  • Participate and present at Professional Learning Community meetings.
  • Provide feedback for information system development or enhancements.
  • Develop and/or improve graduation support processes and procedures as necessary.
  • Additional projects or tasks as needed by management.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervises a team of 5-7 employees.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
  • Previous experience in secondary or post-secondary education preferred.

  • Strong work ethic and self-starter, able to effectively manage multiple priorities and adapt to change within a high-volume and fast-paced environment. Comfort with adapting to changing business needs, conditions, and work responsibilities.
  • Must possess a professional and friendly attitude and be able to quickly develop a rapport with stakeholders over the phone.
  • Ability to learn and navigate new software quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail, dependability, and follow-through.
  • Resolve issues and conflicts.
  • Passionate commitment to the mission of school choice.
  • Ability to maintain professional confidentiality and comply with FERPA guidelines.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret internal communications, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from families or members of the business community.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, families and coworkers, both verbally and in writing.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Basic math skills required

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Computer Skills:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have computer proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office and Google Tools with the ability to manage multiple computer screens.
  • Knowledge of web conferencing/meeting tools.
  • Must have a high aptitude to learn new software as necessary for the business operations of the school.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Current driver's license and valid car insurance.

Other Qualifications:

  • Must be able to pass a state-mandated background check after a conditional offer of employment is made.
  • Must have favorable employment references.

This position is a statewide virtual position. The supervisor will determine the need for in-person office hours. Meetings in public places and at Epic offices are also required. The noise level is usually quiet to moderately loud (when students are present).
