About the Job Working Title: Summer Assistant, Evaluation Support

Location: Center for Small Towns office on the University of Minnesota, Morris Campus, with optional remote work that is conducted in the state of Minnesota.
Appt. term: Summer 2026, approximately 5 hours a week
Dates of hire: Approx May 26, 2026 - August 30, 2026
Salary Range: $17 - 18.50/hour
Apply By: May 18, 2026 LOCATION OF POSITION At Center for Small Towns office on the UMN-Morris Campus, with the option to work remotely within the state of Minnesota, for some portion of the time. The position is 5 hours/week for which timesheets need to be submitted weekly for approval.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Duties will include assisting with program evaluation for the Department of Community Development within University of Minnesota Extension. Responsibilities include:
- Working as part of a team with program team members and the Evaluation and Research Specialist, assisting in design of impact evaluations of community development programs.
- Conduct research, qualitative and quantitative data analysis as part of program impact studies.
- Conduct data cleaning, analysis, create data tables, and write narrative for end-of-year program accountability reports.
- Maintain contact with Specialist in Community Economics assigned to deliver the program evaluations.
- Help with other projects/evaluations as assigned.
Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics or related field.
- Experience in conducting research and data analysis
- Ability to initiate and complete programs and projects as outlined.
- Ability to work independently.
- Flexibility and dependability
- Experience using Tableau, R, SPSS, Microsoft Excel or related software.
- Experience publishing data to Google Site website.
- Access to reliable internet and ability to work remotely within the state of Minnesota.
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Strong organizational skills

Pay and Benefits Pay Range: $17 - $18.50; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
