• Local: Up to $40/hour (Negotiable based on experience)
• Travel: Up to $45/hour (Negotiable based on experience)

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a 13-week contract assignment within an OB/GYN surgical services unit at a high-volume acute care hospital in New York City.

This role requires strong perioperative expertise with a focus on obstetrics and gynecology procedures. The Surgical Technologist will function as a scrub tech, ensuring strict adherence to sterile technique while supporting the surgical team in a fast-paced operating room environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms for OB/GYN surgical procedures
• Maintain strict sterile technique throughout all surgical cases
• Function as a scrub technologist during procedures
• Set up, handle, and manage surgical instruments and supplies
• Perform accurate surgical counts and ensure OR safety protocols are followed
• Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping
• Anticipate surgeon needs during procedures
• Support infection control and hospital safety standards
• Document case activities as required
• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and OR staff

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification (NBSTSA or AST accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of OB/GYN or Labor & Delivery OR experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of perioperative procedures and sterile technique
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• High attention to detail and compliance with OR protocols
