COOK (AGENCY SUPPORT) To provide nutrition services including; meal prep, food service,
information, & education to all children and families enrolled in each of our programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED Strong knowledge of large-scale food production, typically from experience or education obtained

through at least one year experience in a similar position as a commercial cook preferred. Experience planning menus and complying with USDA nutrition guidelines. Knowledge about developing and maintaining good food service and proper food handling

techniques to meet all licensing and food service permit requirements. Thorough knowledge of and experience with food purchasing, quantity food preparation, operation of

food service equipment. Ability to do careful menu planning and food purchasing. Must have current Alaska Drivers License, personal vehicle insurance and a good driving record. Knowledge of standard cleaning techniques, application of proper cleansers, characteristics of

surfaces to be cleaned and equipment required to perform tasks. Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds. Ability to work independently and as a team member. Balancing the unexpected (staff shortages, equipment malfunctions etc.) with strict meal schedules.

Pre-hire: Fingerprinting/Background Check
Health Report
Post-hire: Annual Physical/Health History

CPR and First Aid Certification
Food Worker Card
ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification
Proof of current Driver’s License and auto insurance


GENERAL INFORMATION:
Location: All Center Locations (floating position between Fairview, Palmer and Wasilla)
Supervisor: HR Director
Schedule: Full-Time (40 hrs/wk for 45 wks/yr)
Salary: $22.55 - $27.78 per hour DOE/E
