The Role

As a Superintendent you will be responsible for planning and executing your phase of work on large scale commercial and industrial concrete projects. You will work closely with the operational team to create and deliver an overall project plan, leading your crew to meet safety, quality, and production goals every day.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive project plan for your phase of work
• Lead and manage self perform concrete crews on large scale commercial and industrial projects
• Oversee all concrete operations including slab on grade, elevated decks, structural concrete, tilt up, and foundations
• Identify obstacles and opportunities within the project and plan accordingly
• Prepare your team for execution using defined planning processes
• Ensure your team has staged equipment, materials, and workstations for optimal output
• Track and manage timesheets, delivery tickets, and sign in and sign out sheets
• Coordinate pre pour walkthroughs with project teams, engineers, and inspectors to verify readiness and compliance
• Ensure project execution goals are met for your portion of work
• Communicate project status accurately and in a timely manner to all appropriate parties
• Enforce OSHA safety standards and maintain a safe and efficient job site at all times
• Mentor and develop junior field staff and Project Engineers on site
• Travel within the Southeast United States as required by project needs

Requirements and Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in project execution for a large scale self perform general contractor or concrete contractor
• Self perform concrete experience is required — you have worked within a self perform concrete operation, not purely coordinating subcontractors
• Experience across a variety of project types with emphasis on commercial and industrial — data centres, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, chip plants, healthcare
• Large scale project experience — projects over $1 million in concrete scope
• In depth knowledge of construction principles and practices
• Strong knowledge of concrete sequencing, forming systems, reinforcing, and quality control procedures
• Ability to lead people and drive results for overall project success
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office — Word, Excel, Outlook
• Procore experience preferred
• OSHA 30 certification preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem solving skills
• Willingness to travel within the Southeast United States
• Must be legally authorised to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future
