The Role

  • The Field Service Engineer (FSE) is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of SCO’s image-guided superficial radiation therapy systems across our national network of partner clinics. This role ensures maximum equipment uptime, regulatory compliance, and uninterrupted clinical operations.
  • This is a field-based technical role focused on service excellence, rapid troubleshooting, and protecting patient care delivery.

What You Will Do

Equipment Installation & Deployment

  • Perform installation, calibration, and commissioning of radiation therapy systems
  • Coordinate delivery, rigging, and positioning of equipment at clinical sites
  • Conduct acceptance testing and support customer sign-off
  • Ensure seamless transition from installation to active service support

Preventive Maintenance & Compliance

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance in accordance with manufacturer and regulatory requirements
  • Complete radiation safety checks, QA verification, and system calibrations
  • Maintain detailed service documentation to support audits and compliance inspections
  • Support incident reporting and corrective action processes as required

Troubleshooting & Repair

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, imaging, and software-related system issues
  • Perform root cause analysis on recurring technical problems
  • Coordinate with internal engineering and manufacturer technical support on complex issues
  • Minimize downtime and restore clinical operations with urgency

Service Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain complete and timely service reports, maintenance logs, and equipment histories
  • Track service metrics including uptime and response times
  • Ensure all documentation meets internal and regulatory standards

Customer Support & Collaboration

  • Provide on-site technical guidance and basic troubleshooting instruction to clinical staff
  • Partner with Clinical Operations and Radiation Physics to support system performance and compliance
  • Build strong working relationships with dermatology practice partners

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related technical field preferred (or equivalent technical experience)
  • 2+ years of experience servicing medical devices, imaging systems, or similarly complex regulated equipment
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience working in regulated healthcare environments preferred
  • Ability to travel nationally up to 75%
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel by air as required

  • Employment Type: Regular, full-time
  • Salary Type: Salaried, exempt
  • Annual Salary Range: $70,000 – $100,000
  • Work Location: Remote (field-based with national travel)
