Compensation: $32,760.00 annually $15.75 hourly. Salary may be dependent upon the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

This position serves as a member of the Prevention and Protection Services (PPS) Family and Child Tracking System (FACTS) within the regional Support Services process. The position also requires a commitment to work effectively with all other PPS Units, Foster care Liaisons, Title IV-E, Contractors, and DCF Divisions in providing a harmonious work environment that is conducive to improving agency outcomes, office operations and a productive working relationship in the community. This position may be required to provide coverage in other service centers within the assigned region. This position is part of a service delivery team responsible to provide quality entry for Federal Funding and payments to contractors, while performing a variety of tasks to meet service needs of children in families where abuse or neglect is suspected or are at risk for abuse and neglect. This position also involves performing a variety of tasks and entry to ensure the service needs are being met for children who have been referred to family preservation, foster care, or adoption service. The incumbent is expected to demonstrate a commitment to customer service and will participate fully in team activities in support of the Agency mission. Maintain the FACTS System to ensure accurate information is documented in a timely manner. Data entered into this system demonstrates the activities meet Federal, State, the agency and statutory requirements and is used in making critical decisions impacting statewide programs pertaining to child safety.


This position requires considerable independent judgment and action. Employee exercises judgement in day-to-day work, operating with minimal supervision while understanding policy in different areas of the agency including but not limited to Child Protect Specialist (CPS), Independent Living (IL), foster care, Contractors, Protection Report Center (PRC), IV-E and others to enter correctly into the Federal Database with minimal to no errors. Employees will set their own priorities for daily activities determining the most appropriate.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: *If a driver’s license is required, a copy must be sent to your recruiter following the interview. * Valid Driver’s License (must maintain valid driver’s license throughout employment).

High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications: Two years of experience in general office, clerical and administrative support work.

Security Clearance: A background check (KBI - criminal background, welfare fraud, driver's license and Child/Adult Abuse and Neglect Central Registry) is required for all positions with the Department for Children and Families (DCF) as a condition of employment, which may include fingerprinting and FBI check. Security clearance must be obtained prior to employment with DCF. Must maintain security clearance throughout employment.

Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate: A valid Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate is a condition of employment for all employees of the State of Kansas. Applicants (including non-residents) who receive a formal job offer for a State job, are required to obtain a valid Tax Clearance within ten (10) days of the job offer. FACTS System Navigation and Information Management

Employee will set their own priorities for daily activities determining the most appropriate methods for importance, knowledge and procedures through use of experience and education while following established office or departmental procedures.

Information Verification and System Management

This position is responsible for analyzing information received, extracting or selecting appropriate elements for entry, and understanding and ensuring accurate correlation between the selected entry and various program possibilities. In an ongoing role, this position will review court orders for accuracy prior to entering the required elements in FACTS. This may involve verbal conversations with PPS line staff, review of the case hard file or research in other available systems. This position will access and use statewide reports as a resource for reviewing accuracy of existing data within FACTS. Additionally, statewide reports will be utilized to manage and anticipate upcoming deadlines for key elements to be entered into FACTS. Statewide reports will be reconciled with our Providers and PPS direct service staff to ensure missing information is entered and consistency between worker records and the system is present. This position will ensure all actions occurring within their region related to FACTS, comply with State and Federal requirements. This position will build and maintain strong working relationships with external customers to create a process of information sharing which allows for timely and accurate reporting and entry. This position is consistently reviewing their work by using available tools and resources. This position will correct and resolve data entry errors immediately upon discovery. The work of the position is monitored through supervisory oversight, a centralized data unit and is within scope of the statewide program case review.

System Liaison
This position provides an environment of continuous learning for staff outside of the FACTS team. This employee is in a position to educate regional staff how to navigate the system. This position provides family/child information from the system at the request of program staff related to specific cases. This position works closely with DCF Administrative staff to stay apprised of policy and procedural changes, manage system corrections needed and report on issues within the system experienced in the region. This position works directly with line social work staff in reporting history or identifying information on specific child/family.

Growth and Knowledge Retention
Attends and participates in training and work groups related to FACTS. Is an active regional team member. Manages assigned case county duties and assists teammates in other counties to ensure the success of the program for the Kansas City Region. Attends and participates in special projects/meetings requiring the FACTS perspective.
