General Laborer

Location: Cedar Rapids, IA
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $19.00 – $30 per hour (based on experience)

We are a growing industrial coatings and construction company looking for dependable, skilled workers to join our local crew. While industrial painting or sandblasting experience is a plus, we’re also open to candidates with commercial painting or general construction experience who are motivated and ready to learn.

Our work is currently based in Cedar Rapids, IA, but occasional travel may be required in the future as we expand projects throughout the Midwest.

✔ Responsibilities

• Perform industrial or commercial painting, sandblasting, or surface prep work
• Assisting in the setup/tear-down, movement, and inspection of scaffolding systems; training provided if needed—must be safety-conscious and able to work at heights
• Operate spray equipment (conventional or plural component systems)
• Assist in job site setup, cleanup, and safety procedures
• Follow directions from crew leaders and foreman
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Travel to project sites as needed (some out-of-town work may occur in the future)

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial painting, sandblasting, commercial painting, or construction
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check
• Strong attention to safety and worksite procedures
• English proficiency required (for safety and communication)
• Reliable transportation

Preferred (Not Required)

• Experience with trowel-applied coatings or epoxy systems
• Familiarity with fiberglass matting or specialty coatings
• Basic computer or mobile device skills
• Supervisory experience (for Foreman applicants)
• Familiarity with scaffold setup and safe use is a plus; must be willing to work at heights and learn proper scaffold procedures if not already experienced
• Carpentry experience, Sandblasting and water jetting experience.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay: $19.00 – $30.00/hr, based on experience and position

Work Location

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Overtime
• Weekends as needed
