Lake Station Community Schools is seeking Custodial/Janitorial staff persons to be assigned to its schools. We are currently accepting applications for potential part-time and/or full-time employees.
Wage: $15.10/hour minimum starting
Benefits: Regular or part-time employee
Schedule: Works weekdays Monday through Friday day shift (6:30am - 3:00pm) or afternoon shift (2:30pm - 11:00pm).
SUMMARY: Ensure a clean, sanitary, orderly and safe facility. Assist in maintaining school buildings and school grounds to include lawn maintenance and snow removal.

The building principal, supervisor or designee shall make daily work assignments for custodial personnel. These assignments shall not be limited to an employee's specific skill.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Custodial/Janitorial personnel are directly responsible to their building principal, for the following duties and any other duties may be assigned:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the school corporation.
