Teradyne Defense and Aerospace engages in the design, development, and production of automatic test equipment for Department of Defense and worldwide defense contractors. Teradyne is looking for a Manager for the Test Program Set (TPS) Engineering Project Managers (EPMs) team. The TPS Development group is part of Teradyne's engineering services providing Total Test Solutions to our customers. The group is responsible for designing, implementing, and delivering test solutions to customer requirements and specifications, including software test programs.
The Manager for this group of EPMs will be responsible for hiring, career development, coaching, resource planning, and functional reporting for a group of 6 to 8 individual contributors.
Responsibilities
Hiring, mentoring and career development of EPM staff within the TPS Development group
Providing technical and strategic guidance to Project Managers within the group
Directing work of EPMs to ensure best practices around all aspects of project oversight
Creating and maintaining an aggregate project plan (APP) for the group that aligns with short-term and long-term needs of the division
Providing budgetary plans for the TPS EPM group
Developing plans for and supporting the implementation of process improvements for TPS project execution, incorporating lessons learned from prior projects
Oversee the TPS project's financial performance, including budget planning, cost tracking, variance analysis, and forecasting to ensure delivery within financial targets
Cultivating a diverse and inclusive, collaborative, positive team culture where everyone has impact, feels engaged and motivated, and can grow on their own personal journey

Strong leadership skills & demonstrated leadership experience with Engineering Project Management teams
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience; MBA and PMP degree preferred
Minimum 8 years experience in Engineering Project Management or related field
Knowledge of software development processes and waterfall/phase gate project management
Ability to manage tradeoffs with regards to cost, cycle time, productivity, and predictability
Solid verbal, written, and presentation skills
Knowledge of and experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE)
Proficient in MS Project; Familiarity with Azure DevOps preferred
Commitment to excellence, efficiency, and product quality
Ability to travel domestically - up to 20%
Must be ITAR
Must be able to be onsite in North Reading, MA 3+ days/week

Compensation:
The base salary range for this role is $138,900-222,300. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
