A wholesale distributor located in Louisville, KY is looking for a strategic and detail-oriented Buyer to lead procurement activities for their operations. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of product acquisition—from analyzing daily stock requirements and managing vendor relationships to negotiating terms that protect their bottom line. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver who thrives on data integrity and supply chain efficiency. This position is a full-time permanent opportunity offering a competitive salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities
- Analyze Daily Requirement Reports (RRAR) to forecast purchasing needs and maintain optimal stock levels in alignment with company goals.
- Review non-stock and special order demands, previous day’s POs, and branch-level order entries to identify and resolve anomalies.
- Maintain the accuracy of the CloudSuite Distribution (CSD) system, including pricing, item descriptions, vendor profiles, and Approved Replacement Parts (ARPs).
- Research special freight quotes and monitor monthly inventory reports to capture rebate thresholds and minimize overhead.
- Troubleshoot invoice discrepancies, quality issues, and vendor returns to ensure financial accuracy.
- Expedite warehouse transfers, issue purchase orders, and perform meticulous data entry for order confirmations within CSD.
- Investigate and interview potential suppliers to ensure they meet strict quality and delivery requirements.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor proposals; lead meetings to discuss market trends, new product launches, and the impact of economic conditions on assigned commodities.
- Actively negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and purchase terms to ensure the company receives maximum value without compromising quality.
