Mental Health Skill Development and Education (75% Pediatrics / 25% Adults)

Job Description

Wellness Service Provider:

The Wellness Service Provider will support diverse social emotional and life skill development and education, within their scope of competency, focused on meaningful individual and family holistic wellness, so that pediatric and adult clients can achieve their goals. The applicant will influence growth with their caseload through their "therapeutic use of self" encouraging long lasting, relationship based change through a combination of play based services with children and motivational interviewing / reflective education with adults. Services will be provided within participant’s homes, natural community contexts, our office location, and other supporting environments. We will provide a balance of attunement and responsiveness to the client's individual differences/needs and provide developmentally appropriate "just right challenges" and expectations for their mutually identified growth areas.

Work History and Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education: Undergraduate Degree.
  • Seeking an applicant with both a "related degree" and "experience providing direct mental health services" with kids in a 1:1 or group/facility setting.
  • Degrees Preferred: Special Education Teaching, Psychology, Marriage and Family Studies, Behavior Sciences, Recreation Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or other related degrees/experience setting, tracking, and implementing mental health / social emotional related plans, etc.
  • LCSW, LPC and LMFT degrees encouraged to apply for our separate counseling position, even if you have an in-training licensure.

Job Type:

  • Full Time: Paid Hourly.
  • Flexible schedule: You are always in control of your schedule and appointment times.

  • Valid driver license and reliable vehicle.
  • Cell phone with access to data/calling/texting.

Job Location:

  • Strive Wellness currently has a single room office location. This means you will be mostly mobile - working from a combination of in home and community environments.
  • Face-to-Face service provision to individuals and families within Barron County, WI.

Client Demographics:

  • Children with variety of mental health and substance use diagnoses.
  • Adults with variety of mental health and substance use diagnoses.

Responsibilities:

  • Self Leadership and Confidence in Guiding Others' Healing, Growth and Recovery.
  • Dedication to Strive Wellness mission statement and values.
  • Management of your own schedule.
  • Joint development of participant specific SMART recovery goals.
  • Attunement and responsiveness to participant driven plans.
  • Concise documentation of visits.
  • Summary of participant progress and service engagement.
  • Prompt communication with other recovery plan team members.
  • Collaboration within the recovery plan team.
  • Cultivation of skill development through coaching, mentorship, education, skill building, guidance and encouragement, co-regulation, and confidence building.
  • Bi-weekly reflective supervision with Drake Kessler.
  • Bi-weekly reflective team meetings.
  • Regular clinical supervision by a licensed social worker or counselor - paid and provided.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Starting wages vary by degree and may be negotiable depending on years of experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree:Starting Wage: $27-30/hour (Full time estimate ~$75,000)
  • Master’s Degree:Starting Wage: $38-42/hour (Full time estimate ~$105,000)

  • Mileage reimbursement at IRS reimbursement rate.
