The Department of Corrections is recruiting to fill a Pharmacy Technician - Objective position. This position is based out of the BHS Central Pharmacy (Waupun, Dodge County).

Position Summary


The Pharmacy Technician-Objective performs highly responsible work assisting higher level professional pharmacy staff. The pharmacy technician assists the pharmacist in the selection, preparation, record keeping, inventory and distribution of orderables. The pharmacy technician is responsible for orientation and training of new pharmacy technicians. Work is performed under general supervision and within established policy and program guidelines, and the technician is expected to demonstrate considerable competence in handling medications and products.

Salary Information


Pharmacy Technician - Objective is in pay schedule and range 06-11 and offers a starting pay rate of $20.52/hour.

Pay rates on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code. A twelve-month probationary period is required.

Job Details


Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.

The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.


The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

Shift: 8:30am-5:00pm Monday-Friday and a rotating Saturday shift of 7:00am – 11:00am.

This position is not eligible for remote work.

Qualifications


SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:

Applicants must possess a current Wisconsin credential as a Pharmacy Technician and maintain licensure during employment.
