Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, highly motivated and independent bench scientist to join our biology team. As a Research Associate II, in the Cell Biology team, the selected candidate will contribute to assay development, assay design and execution, and compound screening. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in flow cytometry and broader experience across cell-based assay platforms. This is an opportunity to work closely with a highly collaborative biology team in a fast-moving early-stage biotech environment where scientists have meaningful impact on discovery programs.
This position reports to the Principal Scientist, Biology and will be located at New Haven, CT.
Principal Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Execute compound profiling workflows across diverse cellular assay platforms.
- Cell culture, including maintenance of multiple cell lines, transfections and transductions, stable cell line generation etc.
- Standard molecular and cell biology techniques including flow cytometry, immunoblotting, ELISA, qPCR, cell viability assays (including Cell-Titer Glo) etc.
- Assay design, assay development and execution across different cellular assays.
- Capture, curate, QC, and organize experimental data; maintain accurate records in electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN) and internal databases.
- Support additional project teams in a matrixed work environment as needed for the generation of data in support of drug discovery and development programs.
Qualifications
- B.S. with 3-5 years of pharma/biotech experience, or M.S. with 1-2 years of pharma/biotech experience in small molecule drug discovery, with hands-on experience in flow cytometry and cell-based assays.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills, with the ability to clearly communicate experimental rationale and design while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to independently execute experiments, analyze data, and communicate results in a fast-paced team environment.
- Desire to contribute and collaborate to operational needs of a biotech startup.
- A background in protein-protein interactions and experience in small molecule drug discovery at an early-stage biotech are favorable.

- This role is primarily laboratory-based and involves work with biological and potentially hazardous materials in a controlled environment. Candidates should be comfortable collaborating in team settings, presenting data, and supporting projects during standard business hours.
