Customer Service Specialist

Job Description

Job Summary
Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in the world of massage therapy regulation? Do you thrive in a vibrant environment where your voice truly matters? FSMTB is seeking enthusiastic team member to support our examination and customer service programs.

In this role, you’ll review and process examination applications with accuracy, enforce policies, and manage documentation. You’ll also be a trusted point of contact for our customers—answering emails and phone calls in a professional, calm, and courteous manner.

Our customers include massage students, instructors, school administrators, practitioners, and member boards. FSMTB offers a positive, supportive, and collaborative work culture where your contributions are valued and your work makes a difference.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service with professionalism, diplomacy, and discretion.
  • Strong communication skills — clear and confident on the phone, with excellent oral and written proficiency.
  • Ability to interact effectively with diverse groups, including massage therapy professionals, schools, students, and state licensing boards.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the flexibility to manage multiple priorities and adapt to interruptions.
  • Reliable team player who is motivated, punctual, and open to direction, supervision, and constructive feedback.
  • Consistently accurate and thorough when providing information and following established processes.
  • Demonstrates integrity, reliability, and accountability in all work.

Requirements

  • Quickly gain in-depth knowledge of FSMTB processes, procedures, and services.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with databases, Microsoft Office Suite, office equipment, and software systems.
  • Accurately interpret data and provide clear, reliable information to customers and colleagues.
  • Deliver compassionate and professional service to a wide variety of callers, including those for whom English is a second language.
  • Communicate effectively — both orally and in writing — with strong grammar, reading comprehension, and interpersonal skills; proficiency in additional languages preferred.
  • Manage multiple priorities and adapt to interruptions while remaining detail-oriented and organized.
  • Complete routine tasks and assignments independently, while also contributing to special projects as needed.
  • Maintain reliable attendance, punctuality, and strong telephone skills (hearing and speaking clearly).
  • Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
