Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with an Associate's degree, Nursing diploma, Bachelor's in Nursing, or Master's in Nursing
Valid RN License
Minimum of 2 years of Registered Nursing experience or 2 years of clinical nursing experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Excellent communication skills.
Basic computer skills.
Strong work ethics and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications:
BSN or MSN with three (3) or more years of nursing experience.
Pediatric Care experience.
Current BLS.
Responsibilities:
Implements the nursing process to manage patient care problems of a complex and changing nature as demonstrated by documentation and observation.
Assumes accountability and responsibility for all aspects of care for the assigned group of patients, with respect for developmental level and age-specific issues.
Administers medications and treatments and performs procedures according to UAMS and KIDS FIRST policies.
Evaluates children to identify signs of illness or injury and intervenes appropriately.
Maintains current and accurate records and ensures confidentiality.
Teaching/learning needs of patients and families are identified, addressed, and documented.
Acts as a resource for staff in the areas of health, safety, and infection control.
Assumes responsibility for acquiring knowledge and experience to meet professional goals.
Develops and maintains close working relationships with the clinic director, the Medical Director, nursing managers, the clinic nurse, and other team members.
Actively works with contacts to coordinate care and promote referrals to the program.
Collaborates with KIDS FIRST staff, PCPs, UAMS resources, and others to implement and revise plan of care as needed.
Provides employment documentation such as annual TB screening, CPR /nursing license renewal verification, etc., promptly.
Performs other duties as assigned.
