Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, full-time Tax Accountant to join our team for this newly created role. The ideal candidate will have a solid knowledge and understanding of federal and state taxation for both businesses and individuals, experience preparing year-end accounting engagements, and a willingness to perform various related tasks. This is an in-office position in Farmington, CT. Once fully acclimated, there is also the potential for a hybrid office/work-from-home workweek based on an as-needed basis.
Job Responsibilities:
The candidate will be responsible for providing a variety of services including but not limited to:
- Prepare federal and state tax returns for: S-Corporations (1120-S), Corporations (1120), Partnerships (1065), Individuals (1040), Trusts (1041)
- Assist with preparation of tax returns and supporting workpapers with a goal of reviewing as experience grows
- Assist with year-end business accounting engagements, including financial statement preparation and adjusting journal entries
- Work with confidential client-provided records, documents and accounting data
- Maintain organized and accurate workpapers in a paperless environment
- Communicate directly with clients to gather information and respond to inquiries
- Assist with tax notices and limited tax research
- Collaborate closely with team members to meet deadlines, especially during busy season

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- 1–2 years of public accounting or relevant tax experience
- CPA and/or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation or progress toward CPA/EA (preferred but not required)
- Proficiency or working knowledge of various computer software applications, including: Wolters Kluwer CCH Suite of Axcess Tax, Engagement and Workflow (or similar software), Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word), QuickBooks (Online & Desktop), ShareFile & RightSignature (or similar software)
- Organizational and time management skills, with an attention to detail
- Quality written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Adherence to the highest level of confidentiality
- Experience or interest in the music and entertainment industry is a plus
- Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
