Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Wound Care

Location: New York, NY 10037 (Onsite)

Employment Type: 13-Week Contract

Schedule:

  • Shift: Day Shift (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
  • Hours: ~38 hours/week
  • Schedule: 4 shifts/week (10-hour shifts)
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Wound Care Specialist to provide comprehensive wound, ostomy, and continence care in a clinical setting. This role involves patient assessment, care planning, education, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, evidence-based patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments for wound, ostomy, and continence care
  • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans
  • Monitor and evaluate patient response to treatments and interventions
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and families
  • Lead and support staff education and training programs
  • Assess patients at risk for pressure injuries and implement prevention strategies
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical studies
  • Assist in evaluating standards of care, supplies, and equipment
  • Manage specialized equipment such as specialty beds and wound therapy devices
  • Ensure compliance with patient safety, confidentiality, and regulatory standards
  • Promote culturally competent care and patient education

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited program
  • Active New York State RN License
  • Current AHA BLS Certification
  • Minimum 2+ years of Med/Surg nursing experience
  • Experience in wound care and ostomy/colostomy care

Required Certifications (One of the Following):

  • CWOCN (Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse)
  • CWON (Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse)
  • CWCN (Certified Wound Care Nurse)
  • CWS (Certified Wound Specialist)
  • WCC (Wound Care Certified)

Preferred Skills:

  • Patient assessment and care planning
  • Strong patient and staff education capabilities
  • Experience with quality improvement initiatives
  • Knowledge of culturally competent care practices
  • Familiarity with specialized wound care equipment and asset management

Work Environment:
