Program Aide-Cultural Affairs

Job Description

The Town of Harwich seeks a qualified individual with customer service, program, event management and supervisory experience to fill the position of Program Aide located at the Cultural Arts Municipal Building. This position provides oversight, coverage, and monitoring of activities, classes, and programs located at the Cultural Arts Municipal Building and within the Two State Designated Cultural Districts. This position requires work outside of normal business hours including evenings and weekends. The successful candidate will have the ability to manage time effectively, as schedule will vary each week.

Responsibilities for this position include supervising youth and adult activities at the Cultural Arts Building, overseeing and assisting with room set ups, ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the facility in addition to but not limited to assisting with A/V equipment access and or set up. The position also requires providing information about the facility and Cultural Affairs programs to the public. A successful candidate should have knowledge of public relations, customer service, program coordination and operation. Candidate must have the ability to identify and handle emergency situations, following appropriate procedures. Candidate is required to enforce all rules set forth by the Town of Harwich, state, and federal government.

Essential Functions

· Assist in the Oversight of production load in, set up, and load out

· Assist in the Oversight of class, workshop, and seminar load in, set up, and load out

· Assist with Communications to event participants, supporters, vendors, and others with event, program, or workshop

· Assist in all planning and preparation

· Provide day of support required for each occurrence

· Aid in the planning and development for Cultural District Programs

· Support the seasonal programs with the Artisan Shacks, Brooks Park Concerts, Brooks Park Movie Nights and other Cultural Affairs Signature events. Support will include providing supervisory support, vendor communications, planning, and preparation

· Assist with program development and support of Cultural Affairs Programs

Pay Grade: Personnel Bylaws: PT-5 ($20.29/hour)

Schedule: Part-time, 19 hours/week. Hours are to be discussed, based on schedule of programs, events, and other special workshops
