Job Description

Elementary (K-2) Instructional Coach
Split Locations
Effective: 2026-27 School Year


Education/Qualifications:

Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate;

Minimum of 3 years experience in a K-5 school or equivalent environment;
Math Endorsement preferred;

Masters Degree in Education with concentration in Literacy/Reading, preferred;
Bilingual skills preferred;


Training/Experience/Responsibilities:

Current knowledge of research and effective practices in the area of math development and instruction and literacy development and literacy instruction;
Ability to provide leadership for the school's math and literacy programs;
Provide and support math and literacy assessments and data analysis;
Provide professional development by training, coaching, and supporting teachers with math and literacy programs and instructional practices;
Coordinate math and literacy support and serve as a resource for teachers, administrators and families;
Excellent interpersonal skills and flexible, responsible work style;
High level of planning and organizational skills;
Ability to relate and work effectively with parents, staff, students, and the public in a multicultural and multiracial community;
Knowledge and awareness of own cultural identity and how this influences behavior, and desire to learn about the cultural identity of others;
Ability to establish and nurture an environment that promotes cultural competence and equitable treatment of staff, students, and patrons of the District;
Ability to recognize that each person is a unique individual even as we celebrate their group cultural heritage.


Compensation/Working Conditions:
