Asphalt Project Manager

Job Description

• Inspecting asphalt placement (base, intermediate, surface courses) to ensure it meets project specs and ODOT standards

• Monitoring paving operations-temperatures, thickness, compaction, joints, and rolling patterns

• Performing or coordinating field tests, such as density testing and material sampling

• Verifying compliance with ODOT, municipal, and project-specific requirements

• Documenting daily activities, quantities, test results, and issues in inspection reports

• Coordinating with contractors, engineers, and project managers to resolve field issues

• Observing safety practices and flagging non-compliant or unsafe work immediately

Reviewing plans and specs to confirm work aligns with design and contract documents

Skills and Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience minimum

• ODOT prequalification for a Structures Inspector

• Experience with concrete, asphalt, earthwork, and utility construction engineering services and inspection/testing.

• Paving experience

ACI Grade 1 Civil engineering degree or related degree
