About the Job Adult Education Program AssociateSupervisor: Laura Vogel
Classification: TACE position, not to exceed 14 hours per week
Location: Landscape Arboretum, Chaska, MN
OverviewJoin a fast paced work-team providing plant based experiences to adults at the Arboretum. This position assists the Manager of Adult Education to plan and deliver high quality educational experiences to Arboretum class attendees in the areas of photography, art, horticulture, culinary arts, and literature. The Adult Education Program Associate will work to ensure that all programs are defined, organized, and facilitated on schedule. This is a somewhat flexible position with hours between Tuesday and Saturday. Occasional night and hybrid online activities will be required.
Job Description- Serve as class facilitator by welcoming students, take attendance, help with class setup, distribute and collect evaluations, etc.
- Cultivate leads for potential adult education instructors and gather information on potential workshop content and share with the Adult Education Manager.
- Assist with class planning and implementation details such as; entering class descriptions in an online database, printing class rosters, gathering class supplies, and others as assigned
- Liaison with the volunteer department to recruit and schedule volunteers to assist with adult education programs.
- Communicate directly with students as necessary.
Qualifications Required Qualifications- High school diploma
- Some proficiency in using software applications such as Google Drive and Calendar, Zoom, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and others
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Experience and expertise speaking in front of groups
- Availability on Saturdays and evenings
- Successful completion of a background check
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in an educational setting
- Experience in photography, art, literature, culinary arts, and horticulture
Pay and Benefits Pay Range: $18.00 per hour, depending on education/qualifications/experience.
