Job Description
The clinical instructor is responsible for student learning and application of theoretical knowledge in the clinical setting. Works closely with the lead instructor to ensure application of classroom content and course outcomes are achieved. Must represent professional nursing in dress and conduct.
We are currently seeking part-time instructors to teach part-time hours weekly.

Required Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess and maintain a current unrestricted license or multistate license privilege to practice as a registered nurse in Iowa. Two years' experience in clinical nursing required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required, or shall make annual progress toward the attainment of such degree. Civic/community involvement desirable. Some travel within the EICC District is required. Must successfully pass a criminal background screening.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • This position generally operates in a professional healthcare classroom and office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Requires the ability to sit or stand in a classroom during extended instructional periods.
  • May require pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally with assistance.
  • May require standing for extended period of time to perform work responsibilities with regular walking.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
Teach in the clinical area in accordance with outcomes identified in the established course development model. Teaching assignments may include varying delivery formats and methods. Demonstrate ability to successfully and collegially work with a diverse population of students, faculty, administration, and staff. Meet promptly with scheduled clinical groups. Maintain accurate attendance, progress and grade records of all students. Attend and participate in all scheduled faculty, college, district, and advisory meetings as teaching schedule permits or as directed by the Associate Dean of Nursing. Assure that student outcomes are achieved in each course. Evaluate and record student performance and achievement on a regular basis and provide timely feedback to students on their progress in meeting clinical objectives. Assist college in the recruitment and retention of students. Maintain currency of professional skills to continually enhance instructional skills. Engage regularly in professional learning activities and actively seek information about developing trends and ideas. Provide quality service that meets or exceeds the expectations of students and internal/external stakeholders. Perform other job duties as assigned.
