Administrative Assistant 1 Alamogordo Chamber of Commerce | Alamogordo, NM Full-time | Up to $45,000/hr| Ideal start date: June 8, 2026

Job Type: Full-time, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM with flexible schedule for after-hour events

About the Chamber The Alamogordo Chamber of Commerce is the lead business advocacy and economic development organization for Otero County. We serve our members through networking, education, advocacy, and community-building, and represent local business interests with municipal, county, state, federal, and military partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute networking events and member mixers
  • Oversee day-to-day 'office' operations
  • Lead membership retention, renewals, and member outreach
  • Manage member dues invoicing
  • Produce the Chamber newsletter and draft/distribute press releases
  • Oversee Visitor Center operations, including brochure inventory and weekend staff supervision
  • Supervise select office staff to ensure consistent office coverage and service standards

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in office administration, customer service, or event coordination preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with database management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
