Kitchen Operations Manager (Part-Time)

Dardenne Presbyterian Church is seeking a part-time Kitchen Operations Manager to help lead and support the hospitality life of our church. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys serving others, organizing teams, and creating welcoming environments through food and fellowship.

The Kitchen Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day kitchen operations for church dinners, events, and gatherings, while helping build a strong volunteer culture within the Kitchen Ministry.

Position Details

* Part-time, non-exempt

* Average hours:

* 16–20 hours/week (September–May)

* 3–5 hours/week (June–August)

* Reports to Director of Congregational Care

Responsibilities

* Recruit, organize, and support kitchen volunteers

* Train volunteers on kitchen procedures, safety, and equipment use

* Coordinate food purchasing and supplies for church meals and events

* Oversee food preparation, serving, and kitchen clean-up

* Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming kitchen environment

* Submit receipts and expenses to the church bookkeeper

* Coordinate seasonal deep cleaning of the kitchen

* Maintain required food safety certifications

* Serve as backup support for the Kitchen Administrator when needed

* Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

* A follower of Jesus Christ with a heart for hospitality and service

* Experience in food service, kitchen operations, or meal coordination for large groups

* Strong organizational and leadership skills

* Ability to work well with volunteers, staff, and ministry leaders

* Dependable, flexible, and team-oriented

* Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift supplies, move carts, and follow food safety guidelines
