Environmental Protection Manager

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Environmental Protection Manager are to:

  • Provide support in the development of efficient and effective solutions for adequate management of environmental risks and sustainability goals, ensuring ongoing License to Operate (LTO);

  • Provide technical expertise in managing regulatory compliance and policy frameworks, including complex waste management, air, pesticide management, chemical reporting, water/wastewater, sustainability goals and other;

  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental compliance programs and due diligence processes;

  • Support more senior experts in monitoring relevant environmental legislation and corresponding international standards and developing overviews, programs, systems and guidance to foster implementation;

  • Support the development of strategies, programs and processes to improve operations with respect to environmental and management systems, including performing the environmental review for HSE audits;

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with multidisciplinary teams including HSE professionals, operational staff, legal counsel, and engineering experts to develop robust environmental compliance strategies that meet regulatory requirements and support business objective;s.

  • Contribute to the development of methods to identify, assess and mitigate risks, proactively identifying areas for action and working with stakeholders to raise awareness and secure support;

  • Contribute to the adequate representation of Environment & Sustainability data and topics in the Bayer Annual Report or other sustainability reports Support the conduct of Ecological & Safety Assessments (ESAs) for projects in EMEA;

  • Support the tracking of key performance indicators, including evaluation as part of management reviews, and streamlining reporting processes;

  • Contribute to Bayer mission teams to foster the implementation of DSO.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

  • Capability to support an open dialogue within the region as well as stakeholders out of the HSE organization;

  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly present relationships and results;

  • Willingness to assume increasing responsibility in role;

  • Ability to develop efficient and effective solutions in collaboration with stakeholders;

  • Fluent written and spoken English; further language skills, especially Spanish, are an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an environmental science, engineering or management;

  • 5 years of professional experience in environmental sciences or engineering;

  • Experience in production processes is a plus.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $105,200 to $157,800. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
