Manufacturing Grinder

Job Description

Adecco is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Manufacturing Grinder in Erie, PA. Our client is a pecision manufacturing company that specializes in high-tolance tooling and plastic injection molding company that is growing!!! The Grinder is responsible for operating precision grinding equipment to produce high-quality tooling, mold components, and machined parts that meet exact dimensional and surface finish requirements.

The grinder will have experience with surface grinding, cylindrical grinding, and precision finishing operations in a tool and die, mold manufacturing, or precision machining environment. The Grinder requires strong attention to detail, quality focus, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities for the Grinder in Erie, PA:

  • Set up and operate precision grinding equipment including surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and related machinery

  • Grind tooling, mold components, inserts, plates, and machined parts to precise specifications and tolerances

  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions

  • Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, and other inspection equipment

  • Maintain required surface finishes, flatness, parallelism, and dimensional accuracy

  • Select and dress grinding wheels based on material and application requirements

  • Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments during grinding operations

  • Inspect finished components to ensure compliance with quality standards

  • Troubleshoot setup, tooling, and grinding issues to minimize downtime and scrap

  • Maintain clean and organized work areas while following all safety procedures

  • Collaborate with machinists, toolmakers, engineering, and quality personnel to support production goals

Key Requirements for the Grinder in Erie, PA:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred

  • 2+ years of grinding experience in a manufacturing, tool and die, or mold shop environment preferred

  • Experience operating surface grinders and precision grinding equipment

  • Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills

  • Ability to hold tight tolerances and achieve precision surface finishes

  • Proficient with precision measuring tools and inspection techniques

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Commitment to quality, accuracy, and workplace safety
