TITLE: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT VI – ELEMENTARY SCHOOL – PAY GRADE 6
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Graduate.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills along with essential attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain professional attitude during stressful situations.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Power School and AS400.
- Must pass proficiency test in Microsoft Word, Excel & Power Point
- Willingness to learn new programs.
- Prior secretarial/clerical experience at building level preferred.
- Must pass proficiency test in Microsoft Word, Excel & Power Point.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
SUPERVISES: N/A
JOB GOAL: To perform their assigned duties in such a manner to maintain the best possible educational programs and services.
ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains all students’ records in Power School including Parent Portal, Meal Magic and School Messenger.
- Complete all pupil accounting reports with accuracy.
- Responsible for Pupil Accounting Audit and data submitted to the State of Michigan.
- Maintains immunization records.
- Performs various bookkeeping activities, serves as custodian of school funds, and maintains related financial data and files.
- Maintains student and staff attendance data and prepares related reports.
- Maintains schedules for conferences, health tests, parent-teacher meetings, etc.
- Coordinates ordering, distribution and inventories of supplies, materials, etc.
- Participates in certain health and safety activities, e.g., safety calls, fire and tornado drills, emergency first-aid, health reports, etc.
- Receives sorts and distributes mail and operates and maintains office equipment.
- Acts as receptionist and contacts students, staff, vendors, etc., as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 44-46 weeks
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the principal.
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
