Program Manager serves as the operational lead for infection prevention and environment of care (EOC) activities across the CU School of
Medicine Community Practice Division (CPD). This role supports patient and staff safety by implementing and sustaining evidence-based
infection prevention practices, conducting routine surveillance and auditing, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory standards
across ambulatory clinic sites.
The Program Manager leads EOC rounding and remediation support, manages communicable disease
reporting obligations to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), coordinates outbreak vigilance and response, and
oversees EOC log compliance in clinic spaces. In addition to core infection prevention responsibilities, this role provides cross-coverage
support to the Education and Compliance team as needed, serving as an operational partner to advance staff education, onboarding, and
compliance activities across CPD.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leads ambulatory infection prevention program, including
audits, policy development, and regulatory compliance across approximately 60 clinic sites.
- Conducts environment of care rounds,
maintains EOC logs, and partners with clinic leadership to identify and resolve deficiencies.
- Manages communicable disease reporting
obligations to CDPHE and coordinates outbreak surveillance and response.
- Develops and delivers IP education for clinic staff,
including onboarding, annual competencies, and just-in-time training.
- Serves as a subject matter expert and consultative resource
for clinic staff, practice managers, and medical directors on infection prevention and EOC standards.
- Provides cross-coverage
support to the Education and Compliance team as operational needs require.
Work
Location:Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of four (4) days per week on campus and as needed for
in-person meetings.

Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an
accredited program.
- At least four (4) years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, with demonstrated focus on infection
prevention, education, or patient safety.
- Substitution: A combination of education and related
technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

Conditions of Employment:- Must be able to travel to alternate locations assigned.
- Must be

- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Colorado.
Preferred
Qualifications:- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology
(CBIC), or active pursuit of certification.
- One (1) year of leadership/supervisory experience in a clinical
setting.
- Master's degree in nursing, public health, healthcare administration, or related field.
- Experience in an ambulatory
or multi-site healthcare setting.
- Experience conducting environment of care rounds or infection prevention
audits.
- Experience with communicable disease surveillance and public health reporting.
Knowledge, Skills, and
Abilities:- Working knowledge of ambulatory infection prevention principles, EOC standards, and communicable disease
reporting requirements.
- Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across
geographically distributed clinic sites.
- Ability to conduct audits, interpret findings, and develop practical corrective action
plans with clinic teams.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including documentation of rounding findings, regulatory
reports, and presentations to leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative working relationships with clinic staff,
practice managers, medical directors, and external regulatory partners.
- Ability to recognize and respond to urgent infectious
disease or outbreak situations in a calm, organized, and evidence-based manner.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying
current with evolving infection prevention science and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and
familiarity with electronic health record documentation.

The starting salary range
(or hiring range) for this position has been established as $85,068 to $113,992.
