POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is in the Regulatory Compliance department of MPLX NG&NGL and will report to the Compliance Manager. NG&NGL’s Regulatory Compliance department provides compliance management, oversight, and support services to NG&NGL assets regulated by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) and other state pipeline safety regulatory agencies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides oversight and management of MPC’s compliance with safety regulatory requirements (e.g., Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), Federal Motor
Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), United States Coast Guard (USCG), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), etc.) and conformance with internal/external standards or requirements.
Maintains current knowledge of applicable regulations, regulatory developments, interpretations, and enforcement trends.
Develops, maintains, and implements standards, guidelines, and other controls for implementation of regulatory requirements and compliance assurance programs.
Provides subject matter expertise to internal stakeholders regarding applicable regulatory requirements.
Serves as the point of contact to regulatory agencies and facilitates regulatory inspections and audits.
Investigates the causes of compliance issues, determining cause and contributing circumstances, and develops corrective and preventative action plans.
Prepares and submits regulatory reports.
Supports collaborative audits and tracks audit corrective action recommendations to completion, as applicable.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED required with twelve (12) years of relevant experience, or Associates degree with nine (9) years of related experience, or Bachelor’s degree with seven (7) years of relevant experience
In-depth conceptual and practical knowledge of two or more compliance programs and/or disciplines and have demonstrated proficiency in the applicable regulatory framework.
Demonstrated ability to read, research, and interpret moderately complex regulations or program requirements and communicate them to stakeholders.
Experience leading or facilitating compliance audits or inspections.
Knowledge of regulatory or program protocols, inspections and audits, and enforcement or corrective action processes.
Experience in leading or facilitating PHMSA and state inspections, audits, and enforcement proceedings preferred.
Experience working in the natural gas and hazardous liquid pipeline industry preferred.
Valid Driver's License Required.
Travel Required: Up to 40%

Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and self-direct activities.
Ability to research, analyze, interpret, and communicate complex regulations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficient computer skills, and ability to write technical reports and procedures.
Ability to work in both field and office locations, including traversing uneven surfaces, climbing ladders and stairways, and working outside in adverse weather conditions.
