QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Master’s degree with a major in Education Administration preferred.
2. Administrative Certificate by the State of Michigan or willing to meet the requirements within
the time frame allowable by the State of Michigan.
3. A minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience.
4. Previous administration experience.
5. Knowledge of Special Education Federal and State requirements.
6. Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, colleagues, officials and media.
7. Has excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to lead and work in teams.
8. Demonstrates professionalism, exercises tact, and responds well under pressure.
9. Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills.
10. Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
11. Knowledge of National Core Curriculum State Standards in Math and ELA.
12. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate.
REPORTS TO: Principal
JOB GOAL: To direct student discipline, attendance and activities, to promote the educational well being of each
student in order to provide an atmosphere to allow all students to achieve their maximum potential
abilities.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supervise all student conduct, attendance, and oversee all disciplinary procedures.
2. Assists the principal in the general administration of the school, and serves as principal
when the principal is absent.
3. Assists in the evaluation of all staff.
4. Supervises the schools extracurricular programs
5. Serves with parents, faculty, and student groups as requested in advancing educational and
related activities and objectives.
6. Foster good school-community relations.
7. Performs other duties as assigned by the building principal.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Terms of contract to be negotiated.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on
evaluation of professional staff.
