BIO-MED Coordinator - Full Time

Job Description

Position Summary

Oversees all aspects of the Biomedical Department & external equipment contracts. Establishes policies, procedures, standards, and objectives for the provision of services and coordinates with other departments to provide maximum level of services to hospital staff.

Position Accountabilities

Maintains established Biomedical Department policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

Oversee and maintain all external equipment contracts.

Coordinates Biomedical Department functions with other departments of the hospital.

Develops departmental goals and objectives, and establishes and implements policies and procedures for department operation.

Directs, coordinates and supervises all activities in the hospital Biomedical Department.

Selects, trains, orients, prepares work schedules, assigns department staff, evaluates performance, and makes recommendations for personnel actions.

Develops budget for the unit and allocates funds to accomplish objectives. Monitors variance against budget on an ongoing basis.

Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, inservice meetings and workshops to keep abreast of new

software and hardware product developments.

Required Experience - Associate in Biomed or electronics and / or military equivalent

Minimum Experience - 2 years minimum of Biomedical Technician experience

Preferred Education - Associate in Biomedical engineering or military
