Location: Grand Junction, Colorado
Full-Time Leadership Opportunity
Salary: $126,800 – $145,912 annually (based on experience and education)

Position Overview

A leading community healthcare organization in Western Colorado is seeking an experienced and compassionate nursing leader for the role of Director of Labor & Delivery. This position provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and clinical direction for the Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) department.

The Director will collaborate closely with physicians, midwives, neonatal teams, and hospital leadership to ensure exceptional maternal and newborn care, outstanding patient experiences, and a supportive environment for both staff and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Labor & Delivery department
  • Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered maternal and newborn care
  • Lead recruitment, mentoring, retention, and staff development initiatives
  • Maintain compliance with hospital, regulatory, and accreditation standards
  • Drive quality improvement and patient satisfaction initiatives
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support coordinated patient care
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, department resources, and budget management
  • Foster a collaborative culture focused on teamwork and clinical excellence

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field required

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of Labor & Delivery clinical experience
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership or management experience in healthcare

Licensure & Certifications

  • Current RN license or eligibility for Colorado licensure
  • BLS required
  • ACLS required
  • NRP required
  • Additional maternal or neonatal certifications preferred
