Project Engineering Manager
Manufacturing | On-site (Peru, IN)

Position Summary
We are seeking a Project Engineering Manager to lead capital projects and engineering initiatives across multiple manufacturing facilities. This role is responsible for managing projects from concept through installation while driving operational improvements, supporting production efficiency, and overseeing project budgets and timelines.
This position is based in Peru, IN and supports a bacon processing and packaging facility. Candidates must be comfortable working in and around processing, packaging, and harvest environments. The role requires regular plant floor presence as well as travel to other manufacturing locations.
Travel expectations typically include being away from home approximately two weeks per month or several days each week depending on project demands.
Key Responsibilities
Lead capital and engineering projects across multiple manufacturing facilities
Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, cost estimates, and justifications
Coordinate with plant leadership, vendors, contractors, and engineering teams
Support equipment installations, facility upgrades, and process improvements
Review engineering drawings, layouts, and technical documentation
Ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget
Manage contractor activities and support contract administration
Conduct feasibility studies and economic analyses for proposed projects
Provide project updates and status reporting to leadership
Support installation, startup, and commissioning activities
Lead and support engineering team development and collaboration
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
5+ years of engineering/project management experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
2+ years of leadership or team management experience
Strong project management and contract administration experience
Knowledge of installation and construction project scheduling
Ability to apply engineering principles to operational and design challenges
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in food processing, packaging, or other regulated manufacturing environments
Experience managing large capital projects and budgets
Strong process improvement and continuous improvement background
Ability to work effectively in fast-paced manufacturing environments

Pay Details: $120,000.00 to $140,000.00 per year
