RESPONSIBILITIES
Process Bi-weekly and weekly payrolls for Salary and Union/trade employees.
Sign up and process craft new hire on boarding paperwork
Resolve payroll discrepancies and provide information to employees concerning salaries, deductions, earned PTO, sick days and voluntary deductions.
Actively monitor the payroll/personnel reports to ensure that employees are paid timely/accurately, and that no employee is paid inappropriately due to an error of processing actions.
Process ACH payments.
Process manual checks as requested and approved
Be able to handle multiple tasks while maintaining strong attention to detail
Support, assist and back-up other Payroll technicians as required by absences and workload imbalances.
Coordinate with customers both internal/external daily regarding any payroll/personnel issue that needs to be resolved
Manage and handle other payroll related projects as assigned
Communicates with the Human Resources Department to ensure the integrity of the payroll data including data related to new hires, terminations, transfers and rate changes.
Makes updates as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma/GED required, College education/degree preferred
A minimum of three years of progressively complex Payroll experience in a multi-org environment required.
Excellent written and verbal skills needed as this position communicates via phone and email with sites, employees and managers.
Candidate must be able to comprehend and perform complex payroll work with accuracy and a strong sense of urgency.
Must be able to operate office machines, including a computer, copier, fax and 10-key by touch and make arithmetic calculations.
Maintain cooperative working relationships; demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for, a diverse population.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suites, particularly Excel and Outlook is required.
