RN – Pediatrics

Location: Bronx, NY 10461

Duration: Contract Assignment

Shift: 3 Days per Week

Hours: 11.5 Hour Shifts | 34.5 Hours/Week

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Pediatrics to provide high-quality, individualized nursing care to pediatric patients, including pre- and post-surgical cases in an acute care environment. The role involves comprehensive assessment, care coordination, medication administration, and patient/family education.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate pediatric patient care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals
  • Provide direct bedside nursing care for pre- and post-operative pediatric patients
  • Administer, prepare, and document prescribed medications safely and accurately
  • Perform wound care, infection control procedures, IV therapy, and catheter insertion as needed
  • Monitor patient vital signs and report changes or adverse reactions promptly
  • Operate and adjust specialized medical equipment and interpret clinical data
  • Provide post-surgical care and support recovery processes
  • Educate patients and families regarding procedures, treatments, and post-discharge care
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for discharge planning
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation
  • Follow nursing standards, protocols, and evidence-based practices
Requirements:
  • Active NY State RN License required
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
  • Current AHA BLS Certification required
  • Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg or Rehab experience in a large acute care hospital required
  • Experience in physical assessment, medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, post-operative care, patient education, and telemetry monitoring required
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills required
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced clinical environments required
Preferred:
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred
