Disability support worker - private

If you’re looking for part time/casual hours as a Support Worker and you want to play a vital role in your client’s life, this is the job for you. Situated in beautiful Ohoka (10mins from Rangiora / Kaiapoi), you will be working in a pleasant environment, in an easy to clean private family home. You will be required to assist with all activities of daily living for your 61 year old female client who leads a busy life and who happens to be a power chair user. Personal care tasks include: showering, dressing, grooming, etc. Full hoisting is required for all transfers. Household tasks include: cooking, general housework, laundry, etc. Driving your client to appointments may be required. The successful applicants will be joining a small team of Support Workers who work independently of one another to provide daytime cover over the 7 day week. This recruitment seeks to fill: • a permanent Friday shift (7am start for approx 6.5 hours) • a permanent Saturday shift (9am start for approx 4.5 hours) • casual shifts Mon-Sun (as needed to cover other staff absence) The hours offered could work well for people in study but who still need to earn a small income. It would particularly suit someone in the fields of nursing or physiotherapy. One or more Support Workers may be appointed to cover these shifts. The ideal candidates need positive attitudes and caring personalities. You must love dogs. There are 2, they are very much part of the family and in the house.
