In this position, you will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair trash compactors, balers, and related waste-handling equipment at customer sites and in the shop using electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and welding skills.
Compactor Repair Technician Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with compactors and balers
- Perform field and shop repairs, including welding and power unit assembly
- Troubleshoot PLC systems, limit switches, photo-eye sensors, and solenoids
- Clean, lubricate, inspect, and test equipment to prevent downtime
- Maintain accurate service records, parts usage, and repair documentation
- Communicate repair findings clearly with customers and internal teams
- Follow all safety protocols and OSHA guidelines
- Participate in rotating on-call schedule including nights and weekends
- Assist with training or mentoring junior technicians as needed
