Position Summary

As a Mobile Dog Groomer at Lucky Dog, you are the face of our brand and the driving force behind a redefined pet care experience. You will provide high-quality, compassionate grooming services directly to our clients' doorsteps, ensuring comfort and convenience for every pet and owner. This role is essential to our operations, requiring a blend of technical grooming expertise, safe driving, and exceptional customer service.

Job Responsibilities and Functions

Daily Responsibilities:

  • High-Quality Grooming: Provide full-service grooming tailored to the individual needs of each pet, including bathing, clipping, scissoring, and styling.
  • Compassionate Handling: Maintain a gentle and patient approach with all pets, especially those who are senior, anxious, or difficult to handle.
  • Client Communication: Consult with pet owners to understand their preferences and provide professional advice on at-home care and best practices. Communicate timelines and costs clearly and effectively.
  • Sanitation & Safety: Ensure the mobile grooming vehicle and all tools are cleaned and sanitized before and after every session, adhering to the highest hygiene standards.
  • Vehicle Operation: Safely navigate a mobile grooming van through the Greater Denver Area, adhering to all traffic laws and maintaining a clean driving record.

Occasional Responsibilities:

  • Assist with basic vehicle maintenance checks (reporting issues to leadership).
  • Participate in team meetings, safety trainings, or community events.
  • Help restock soaps, shampoos, and other company-provided supplies in the van.
  • Occasionally help with marketing outreach and distributing informational resources to potential clients at dog parks, pet stores, etc.

Experience:

  • 2+ years of professional pet grooming experience required.

Requirements:

  • Physical: Ability to stand for at least two hours and safely lift/move animals weighing over 50 lbs.
  • Certifications: Professional grooming certification (e.g., NDGAA) is a plus but not required.
  • Record: Must have a clean driving record and valid driver’s license.

Required Equipment:

The mobile grooming vehicle is equipped with a bathing station, vacuum, blow dryers, and bows. We expect you to bring the following professional tools with you to work each day:

  • Shears
  • Clippers
  • Scissors
  • Nail Grinders and tips
  • Nail filers
  • Nail Trimmers
  • Any other essential tools you use for grooming

Other Requirements:

  • Must be willing and able to successfully pass a pre-employment background screening. Pre-employment background checks will be conducted in accordance with the Colorado Chance to Compete Act and take place after a conditional offer has been accepted.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, acceptable motor vehicle report, and good driving habits.
  • Ability to legally work in the United States.

Compensation:

  • 35% commission from all grooms completed.
  • 100% of tips earned from all grooms completed.

Additional Information Location:

This position is a mobile-based position based out of Broomfield, Colorado. Candidates currently residing in locations outside of daily commuting distance will be considered, however, no relocation or travel assistance will be provided by the Company for this position.

Work Environment:

This position operates mainly in a mobile salon vehicle environment. This entails working inside a mobile grooming van wherein employee will be provided with the basic set up of a mobile grooming facility. From time to time, exposure to extreme weather conditions, fumes, airborne particles, vibrations, dust, electrical charges and other unforeseen exposures may be encountered.

Physical Demands:

In the performance of the duties and responsibilities of this job, the employee is required to have visual acuity to operate a motor vehicle and view a computer terminal or mobile device for prolonged periods of time. Additionally, the employee will be expected to walk, stand, and move about the mobile vehicle for prolonged periods of time in the performance of the core functions of this role. Individual might be asked to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and/or crawl. Individual might be required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. in the performance of this position.

Position Type and Working Hours:

This is a part-time position, paid as a W2. Typical work hours are 8-hour shifts. This position is for Sunday, Monday, Tuesday OR Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday shifts.

Travel:

Frequent travel to customer work locations throughout the Greater Boulder/Northern Denver area is required.
