Maintenance engineer / fabricator

About the role Makikihi Fries is on the lookout for a skilled and motivated Maintenance Engineer with strong fabrication experience to join our team in South Canterbury. This is a hands-on, varied role suited to someone who enjoys working across maintenance, fabrication, and general plant operations. Key responsibilities • Factory maintenance, including servicing pumps, motors, and plant equipment • Carrying out weekly greasing cycles across factory machinery • Fabrication of new machinery and equipment (heavy and sheet metal work) • Assisting with potato handling operations during harvest season • Supporting daily procurement runs between stores and the factory • Operating machinery as required About us We operate one of the largest engineering workshops in South Canterbury, equipped with high-quality tools and machinery. At Makikihi Fries, we take pride in fabricating most of our equipment in-house and maintaining our own plant to a high standard.
