Warehouse logistics

Job Description

Who we are Mako Solutions is a family-owned Kiwi business supplying premium aluminium fencing, gates and balustrades. Architects, developers, builders, and the homeowner down the road - we keep them all in fences that look good and last the distance. Our projects have ranged from a residence in Tara Iti, Swanson townhouse development (270 homes) and projects across Wanaka, Palmerston North, Taupo, Papamoa and a strong pipeline of work in Kaikohe, Kerikeri and Whangarei. Our warehouse, stock and dispatch all run out of Ruakaka. That's where you'd be. Who we need The person who keeps the warehouse humming. The one with their head screwed on, who shows up properly, gets stuck in, and leaves the place better than they found it every shift. You'll be the one picking and packing orders, booking freight, unloading containers, putting stock away properly, doing the trade runs, and making sure when an installer rocks up to collect, their gear is ready and right. It's a real role with real variety. Three days a week to start (Tue/Wed/Thu typically, but is flexible), with the hours growing as the business does. What you'll actually do Day to day: • Pick, pack and dispatch Mako orders - freight bookings, labels, pallets staged, paperwork sorted • Receive incoming containers - unpack, count, flag anything dodgy, put away to its proper home • Keep the place tidy - everything in its spot, walkways clear, end of day means end of day • Trade pickups and drops - Bunnings, Placemakers, the powder coater, Hi-Q, gate fabricator runs • Forklift work - container unloading, pallet movement (F endorsement preferred; if not, we'll pay for the course) When it's quieter: • Cycle counts on the high-value gear, full count every quarter • Quality eyeball on incoming product - if it's out of spec, we want to know before the customer does • Drop product off to our Auckland and Northland installer mates when you're heading that way • General tidy-up, rubbish, recycling Who you are You've got to have: • Reliability. We need to trust you with the keys, full stop. • Physical capability. Containers and pallets are heavy. You'll be on your feet. • An organised brain. Things belong in places. You're the kind of person who naturally puts them back. • Comfort working solo. The warehouse can be quiet. If you need constant company, this won't suit. • A current full (Class 1) NZ driver's licence • The right to work in NZ. Bonus points for: • Current forklift F endorsement (or keen to sit the course) • Warehouse, trade supply or logistics background • Knowing your way around freight systems (Mainfreight or similar) • Practical hands - basic tools, fixing stuff on the fly, not afraid of a bit of a puzzle Why us We're small, we're growing, we're not corporate, and we don't pretend to be. You'll be trusted to run your patch. Your input gets heard. Your suggestions actually get implemented. And you'll see the difference you've made by the end of every shift, which is more than most jobs can say. The bits that aren't in the contract: • Your birthday off (paid - it's your day) • A team fishing trip thrown in when the calendar plays nice • A genuine pathway for hours to grow as the business does If you love getting stuck in, and you want to be part of a Kiwi business that's actually building something, give us a shout. How to get in touch Send a quick intro and a rundown of your relevant experience to hello@makosolutions.co.nz or call Jan on 021 470 048. References from previous work preferred. If you've driven a forklift, tell us whether you've got the F endorsement.
